Question: Give the fifth main part of the doctrine of God’s providence.
We should use the means that God provides, not out of any lack of trust in God or undue trust in created things but out of the obedience of faith. This is so that we do not, contrary to His command, tempt God (Matthew 4:7) by rejecting the means that serve as the instruments of His divine providence and by prescribing for Him a different way of helping us than the one He wishes. He makes His will clear to us by offering us means that are in accord with His word.
